I'm a first time poster, first time mac owner, first time c programmer, and taking a c programming class which uses visual studio. Because I don't really understand the lingo yet, I'm not really sure what to search for, but since I need to work on visual studio projects on my mac, I need a simple text editor without a dependancy on project structure (like sublime, brackets or visual studio code) which can debug c projects (like, with a big green play button, I told you I don't know the lingo). I'm just looking to open up all the.c,.h files from the vs project folder and working on them before saving them back into it. Any recommendations? Apologies if this isn't the right place for this question.

If you want to get a leg up on your peers, learn to interact with a C project strictly from the terminal. When you press the 'play button' all you are really doing is invoking a C compiler (crunching the source code into something the computer can run) and then executing the program spit out by the compiler. So say you are happily editing away at hello_world.c.

Best Text Editors for Mac – In comes the evolution of Computing, from desktop to remote – mainframes have been converted to smart watches. Even the ambiguity of desktop computing from Microsoft is shifted to its hardcore competitor Apple. Personal Computers vs. MAC have had always been a scenario of competition. There is no shortage of options for text editors geared towards developers on the Mac, but TextMate is our top pick. It wins out thanks to its massive programming language syntax support, helpful.
You've saved the file and want to run the program. All you need to do is to compile the program with gcc (the most common c compiler. It will already work on your mac) gcc hello_world.c and then run the resulting 'a.out' file./a.out and boom this is all you need for simple c development. Googling 'gcc flags' will get you lots of information about compiling more complex programs (multiple files, etc.).
We love Apple’s Continuity features, including the ability to receive calls and text message from your iPhone on your Mac or iPad.If you want to automatically forward text messages to your Mac or iPad however, you first need to set it up. Text message forwarding waiting for verification mac.

How to justify text in microsoft word. It seems esoteric, but it is all very learnable! Also, because you aren't relying on the editor to run your program, it really only has to be able to edit text.
My favorite editor is vim, but is has a very steep learning curve and might not be the best for a beginner. Haha and if you really just want something plug-and-play CodeRunner on the app store seems pretty good.
How to put text in the middle of the page. Open a new blank document using keyboard commands • IBM - Use Ctrl+N (Hold down the Ctrl key and tap the N key one time) • Macintosh - Use Command+N (Hold down the Command key and tap the N key one time) Step 3. Open Microsoft Word. Remember to leave your browser window open until this lesson is finished.
Unfortunately I'm not really sure what you want to do, you do say 'I need to work on Visual Studio projects on my mac'. Well the bad news there is I don't believe there are any mac applications that can open Visual Studio projects. So if your professor is providing you with the solution/project files, then you're probably out of luck. In this case you should follow Trollmans advice and get Student copies of VMWare etc and work in a VM. However there's an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) similar to Visual Studio for the mac called XCode, which you can download from the app store, it uses a compiler called clang. As some people have pointed out clang or gcc can used without using xcode from the command line. However since you mentioned wanting a 'big play button' (I'd call that the debug button btw) I'm going to ignore this option, because compiling on command line doesn't have that button (you'd typically use lldb/gdb to debug, which are command line debuggers, rather than a visual debugger).
